Job Description

Job Purpose

To ensure high standards of hygiene and sanitation across all companies outlets by managing sanitation vendors, pest control, chemical safety, and Master Sanitation Schedules. The role supports audit readiness, CAPA closure, and ESG reporting by maintaining documentation, conducting inspections, and coordinating vendor performance. It also contributes to a safe customer environment and builds hygiene culture through training and coaching.

Key Responsibilities 

Financial       

  • Reduce hygiene-related incidents and associated costs (e.g., contamination, pest control, customer claims).
  • Optimize sanitation resource use (chemicals, equipment, labour).
  • Oversee sanitation vendors (pest control, detergents, deep cleans) to ensure cost-effective service delivery.       

Customer      

  • Ensure clean, safe, and hygienic environments in all customer-facing areas.
  • Respond to hygiene-related complaints and implement preventive measures.
  • Investigate and close pest/hygiene non-compliances flagged during audits or complaints.
  • Provide resolution evidence for ESAP reporting related to hygiene and pest management.        

Internal Processes      

  • Publish and monitor Master Sanitation Schedules for all stores.
  • Maintain SDS (Safety Data Sheet) library for all chemicals.
  • Conduct vendor performance reviews and issue scorecards.
  • Conduct 4 hygiene audits per quarter and ensure 90%+ closure of corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update sanitation SOPs periodically.
  • Coordinate with internal procurement and ensure all hygiene and sanitation vendors are vetted 
  • Update the approved list of chemicals periodically
  • Provide audit evidence on sanitation, pest management, and chemical handling.
  • Feed sanitation CAPA and vendor scorecard data into ESG dashboard.
  • Coordinate training plans for hygiene and sanitation vendors on chemical management and support the stores on any gaps related to chemical management.
  • conduct surveys across the branches to ascertain the chemical effectiveness and give feedback on the performance
  • Coordinate with technical, and ensure their designated storage area for all the chemicals in the store

People 

  • Train 90% of staff quarterly on hygiene and sanitation protocols.
  • Promote hygiene culture through campaigns and coaching.
  • Support store-level hygiene champions.
  • Provide MSDS and sanitation vendor scorecard evidence during audits

Deliverables

Financial Perspective

  • Achieve a 10% annual reduction in hygiene-related incidents.
  • Realize cost savings from improved sanitation practices and vendor efficiency.

Customer Perspective

  • Ensure timely pest control interventions within 24 hours of issue identification.
  • Resolve 95% of hygiene-related complaints within 48 hours.
  • Maintain 90%+ customer satisfaction on hygiene standards.

Internal Processes Perspective

  • Achieve 100% completion of scheduled hygiene audits.
  • Ensure 90%+ CAPA closure rate from hygiene and pest-related audits.
  • Update sanitation SOPs quarterly and maintain compliance logs.
  • Submit monthly hygiene updates and vendor scorecards to ESG dashboard.

People Perspective

  • Train 90%+ of staff quarterly on hygiene protocols.
  • Achieve 85%+ training effectiveness score in post-training assessments.
  • Ensure 80%+ staff participation in hygiene initiatives and campaigns

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Hygiene and Safety Management, preferably in a retail or manufacturing environment.
  • Applicants must have been in the business for at least two years, one year in current designation.
  • Applicant must demonstrate high Integrity. 
  • Must not have active or recent (within 1 year from date of advertisement) disciplinary case.
