Description:
A growing organization within the sports and recreational sector is seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant to support its finance and accounting operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to work closely with senior accountants while gaining hands-on experience across multiple financial functions.
The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, supporting reporting activities, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The position requires strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system, including invoices, receipts, expenses, and other financial records.
• Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
• Monitor, record, and track company expenses while ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
• Manage inventory records and maintain accurate purchasing and pricing information for café-related and other operational purchases.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Participate in month-end closing activities and assist with account reconciliations.
• Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to information requests.
• Maintain organized filing systems for financial records, reports, and supporting documents.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT and corporate tax requirements.
• Prepare and process payroll while ensuring compliance with WPS regulations.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date bookkeeping records.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience within the UAE.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably XERO.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate professionally.
• Previous accounting or finance internship experience is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of:
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- VAT, corporate tax compliance, and payroll administration
- Financial reporting, bookkeeping, and account reconciliations
