Minimum Requirements (Based on Verified UNEP Listings)
Environmental Affairs Specialist
•     Advanced degree in Environmental Management, Governance, Policy, or Sustainable Development.
•     At least 5 years of progressive experience in environmental policy development, natural resource management, or ecosystem management.
•     Experience with UN system reforms, UN Resident Coordinator System, or Regional Collaborative Platforms is required.
•     Strong analytical, coordination, and reporting skills.
Principal Evaluator – Finance & Economic Transformations (2018–2025)
•     Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or related fields.
•     Extensive experience in evaluation of large‑scale programmes, preferably within UN or international development contexts.
•     Ability to lead multi‑month evaluation cycles, including inception reports, preliminary findings, draft and final reports.
Evaluation of the REDD+ Process in DRC
•     Expertise in forestry, climate change, REDD+ mechanisms, or environmental governance.
•     Experience conducting country‑level environmental evaluations, especially in Africa.
•     Strong understanding of climate finance, carbon accounting, and forest conservation frameworks.
(General REDD+ evaluation roles follow similar UNEP consultant requirements.)
Senior Data Scientist, P5
•     Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields.
•     Minimum 10 years of experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, or software engineering.
•     Experience with AI/ML tools, statistical modelling, and leading data teams.
•     Oversees UNEP’s AI, data platforms, and digital transformation initiatives.
