Reporting To: Group Airtel Money Chief Compliance & Risk Officer
About the Role
- We are looking for an experienced Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) leader to help set up, embed, and manage the Group-wide Airtel Money AML/CFT Compliance Program focused on transaction monitoring, sanctions, STR/SAR reporting, and investigations. This role will play a critical part in ensuring Airtel Money operates in a legally compliant, ethical, and risk-aware manner across markets while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the inclusion and management of AML/CFT, ABAC, and Ethics/Whistleblowing monitoring and reporting risks within the Group Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Contribute to Group-wide compliance risk assessments, including identification, prioritisation, mitigation strategies, and tracking of regulatory and audit action plans.
- Lead the development and operationalisation of Group-wide AML/CFT, ABAC, and Ethics/Whistleblowing monitoring and regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Oversee Group-wide transaction monitoring, insider threat monitoring, investigations, and incident management.
- Lead FIU activities and coordinate investigations related to legal requests for information, subpoenas, and regulatory matters.
- Support OpCos in building transaction monitoring and investigations frameworks, SOPs, and operating models.
- Maintain Group-wide compliance monitoring and reporting policies and associated regulatory universes.
- Implement and manage STR/SAR filing, investigations, and transaction monitoring trackers.
- Coordinate compliance reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) and contribute to Board and committee submissions.
- Coordinate and support transaction monitoring audits and regulatory inspections.
- Manage liaison trackers for law enforcement and regulatory engagement.
- Provide compliance advisory support on STR/SAR, LER requests, investigations, and new products and services.
- Oversee financial crime compliance and sanctions monitoring, systems tuning, and tool effectiveness.
- Build, lead, and mentor the Compliance FIU team.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Professional certification required (e.g., CAMS, CRM, CRISC, or equivalent financial crime certification).
- Strong analytical background.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Mobile Money, FinTech, and/or Banking.
- Strong experience in digital financial services and money/value service products.
