The Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (formerly NGOs Co-ordination Board) is a State corporation established under Section 34 of the Public Benefit Organizations (PBO) Act, 2013 and is broadly responsible for the registration and regulation of all charitable organizations in Kenya. Specifically, the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority is responsible forโฏinter aliaโฏregistering, facilitating and coordinating all national and international NGOs operating in Kenya; advising the government on their contribution to national development; providing policy guidelines for NGOs to align their activities with national priorities and receiving and analyzing NGOs annual reports.

Job Purpose
- The Deputy Director is responsible for coordinating registration of PBOs and effective management of PBOs data.
Job Description
- Overseeing the registration of public benefit organizations in accordance with the PBO Act.
- Overseeing the design, maintenance and updating of a register of public benefit organizations.
- Promoting the development of self-regulations among PBOs and foster the recognition of Forums and the Federation.
- Establishing an administrative and regulatory framework within which public benefit organizations can conduct their affairs.
- Issuing certificates of registration to PBOs.
- Advising the Government on the activities of public benefit organizations and their role in development within Kenya.
- Creating an environment within which the public may have access to information concerning registered public benefit organizations.
- Facilitating information sharing and networking between public benefit organizations and the Government.
Person Specifications
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years cumulative work, eight (8) years in management.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree from a recognized institution.
- Professional qualification and membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing, where applicable.
- Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence in work performance and results.
- Exhibited a thorough understanding of national goals, policies and objectives.
