Job Description
  • This is a full-time, on-site Database Administrator role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining database systems to ensure their high availability, performance, and security. Key tasks include database design, implementation, performance tuning, troubleshooting issues, ensuring data integrity, and managing database backups and replication processes. The role involves collaborating with other teams to support business operations and developing plans for database improvements and optimizations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Database Administration and Database Design, including the development and optimization of database structures.
  • Strong skills in database management, maintenance, and troubleshooting to address any technical issues that may arise.
  • Experience with database replication and ensuring data consistency and availability across systems.
  • Solid understanding of database concepts and hands-on experience with modern database systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the banking or financial sector is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
