Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture and Design Governance
- Develop and maintain solution architecture standards, guidelines, and reference models to ensure consistency and quality across all IT initiatives.
- Review and validate solution designs from project teams to ensure alignment with business requirements, architectural principles, and future-state technology direction.
- Produce system design documents, integration diagrams, data flows, and technical specifications to support new and existing solutions.
- Ensure architectural decisions support scalability, resilience, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Technology Evaluation and Advisory
- Assess new technologies, tools, and platforms and provide expert recommendations that align with the bank’s business objectives and digital roadmap.
- Support IT management in setting technology direction, identifying opportunities for modernization, and improving technology lifecycle management.
- Provide architectural advisory support during procurement, RFP evaluations, and vendor solution assessments.
Integration and Interoperability Oversight
- Define and maintain integration standards, API guidelines, and data exchange patterns to ensure seamless communication across systems.
- Oversee the design and optimization of interfaces between core banking, digital channels, payment systems, and third-party applications.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across integrated platforms.
- Participate in project planning, requirements analysis, and solution design sessions to ensure architecture considerations are incorporated early.
Documentation & Architecture Repository
- Maintain comprehensive architectural artifacts, including diagrams, standards, patterns, and inventories for applications, interfaces, and infrastructure.
- Establish and manage a central architecture repository to support audits, regulatory reviews, and governance processes.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation Enablement
- Identify areas where technology redesign or architectural improvements can enhance efficiency, performance, and operational resilience.
- Support innovation initiatives by evaluating emerging technologies and mapping their potential to the bank’s ecosystem.
- Recommend modernization opportunities such as cloud adoption, platform upgrades, microservices, automation, or digital enhancements.
Other Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as TOGAF, SAFe, AWS/Azure Architect, ITIL, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in solution architecture, systems design, application development, or infrastructure engineering within a banking or large enterprise environment.
- Proven experience in designing and supporting enterprise systems, integrations, APIs, and middleware.
- Hands-on exposure to core banking platforms, digital channels, payments systems, and related financial services technologies.
- Experience in collaborating with application support, system administration, and project delivery teams.
- Expertise in conducting technical reviews, architectural assessments, and project risk evaluations.
