Job Overview

Plan International is seeking a dynamic and strategic Regional Business Development Director to lead the growth and funding acquisition efforts in our Nairobi, Kenya office. This role is pivotal in building partnerships and driving our mission to advance children’s rights and equality for girls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive regional business development strategy aligned with global goals.
  • Lead the identification and pursuit of funding opportunities to support programmatic objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with country offices to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
  • Oversee proposal development, ensuring high-quality, competitive submissions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the business development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Monitor and report on industry trends and donor landscapes to inform strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, International Development, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proven experience in strategic growth, funding acquisition, and business development within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong track record of successful partnership building and donor engagement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as required.
