Job Description
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Scope of Work The consultant's duties will include the following work: New programmes: Budget and programmatic support for programs undertaken by the team including Playing for the Planet, Sports for Nature and Tide Turners, which will have a new Phase 6 set for roll out in January 2026. The individual will need to finalise the funding allocations to partners so that all MoUs / ToRs are in place for the project to begin.โฏ
- Closing programmes: Ensure all reports, documents and outreach with partners / donors is undertaken to close out programmes as required. Reporting: Ensuring financial and narrative reporting have been collected from partners and delivered to donors on time with clarifications sought and secured so that all needs are met on time and on budget.
- Contracts: HR and contracts with consultants and partners in place to ensure the effective delivery of the work. Delivery: Work to deliver the Tide Turners Phase 6 of the programme and ensuring that the work undertaken in Africa meets the donor requirements.
Qualifications/special skills
- The consultant should have an advanced university degree (Masters’ degree or equivalent) in communications, political science, environmental management or a related field. Eligible candidates will also have at least two years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area. A Bachelor’s university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required Project design: A strong track record of designing projects that secure buy-in and generate results is required.
- Project management: Ability to deliver highly complex projects of a global nature efficiently and effectively is required Communications: Ability to bring a diverse group of individuals and partners together to agree a collective programme of work as well as able to write high quality reports and proposals as required is required.
- Education & Youth: Experience of working with youth and youth organizations with insight as to how to work with such institutions around the tasks described in the job (desirable) Innovation: Ability to think creatively about how to evolve pre-existing programmes to have maximum impact. (desirable) In addition, the contractor should have excellent English language writing skills, be computer literate in standard software applications; be able to work independently; and have good interpersonal skills (desirable)
