Job Description

Valley Hospital is seeking experienced and dedicated Deputy Nurse In-Charges to oversee the operations and patient care within our Theatre, Surgical Ward, and Endoscopy Unit. The ideal candidates will be instrumental in ensuring high standards of nursing care and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the daily operations of the Theatre, Surgical Ward, and Endoscopy Unit.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality patient care and adherence to healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate with medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and treatment plans.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring the availability of necessary medical supplies and equipment.
  • Implement and monitor infection control policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the evaluation of staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Handle patient and family inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Current licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
