Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing classrooms, offices, hallways, washrooms, and other school areas.
- Clean and disinfect toilets, wash basins, and restrooms regularly to maintain a high level of hygiene.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies and chemicals are used correctly and stored safely.
- Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs within the facility.
- Empty trash bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Replenish bathroom supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
- Check and support the hygiene needs of small children, especially in early learning classes.
- Assist teachers and staff in basic support tasks such as setting up classrooms or responding to inquiries when needed.
- Follow the school’s health and safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear when required.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the school compound at all times.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar cleaning role, preferably in a school or childcare setting
- Good knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods
- High level of honesty, integrity, and reliability
- Friendly and respectful attitude, especially when interacting with children and staff
- Must be willing and able to assist with child hygiene support as needed
