Job Description

The world needs more Intrepid people:   

 

Are you ready to bring East Africa adventures to life? As our Destination Product Manager, East Africa, you’ll lead the creation of small-group itineraries that balance customer needs, market trends, and Intrepid’s philosophy of sustainable, experience-rich travel. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Contracting, and Operations teams to ensure our products are market-ready, commercially viable, and deliver unforgettable experiences for our customers.

 

This is a hands-on, innovative role where you’ll research destinations, develop supplier relationships, and design itineraries that meet our high safety and quality standards. You’ll also partner with suppliers to develop viable SERTs and support CBT initiatives, contributing directly to FIT and group product growth, gross margin targets, and NPS results.

 

This is a permanent, full-time role based onsite in Nairobi, with a salary of KES 3,360,000 per year.

 

Some of the Qualification experience you’ll bring with you may include:

 

Degree or equivalent in Tourism Management

 

In-depth knowledge of East Africa as a travel destination and small-group adventure operations

 

5+ years’ experience in the tourism industry in product, sales, commercial, or operational roles

 

Experience working with DMCs and tourism suppliers, including cost negotiation and itinerary planning

 

Skilled in creating commercially viable, sustainable, experience-rich travel experiences, including accommodation, transport, activities, and meals

 

Experience with travel-related systems (Salesforce, Travel Studio, Elements) and Microsoft Office suite, including Excel

 

Strong understanding of global sales trends in travel and customer expectations
