About the role
The QHSE Senior Associate will support the coordination of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities in Eldoret. You will be responsible for implementing QHSE policies and procedures for our organic waste collection facilities and all Fresh Life operational areas as assigned. The QHSE Associate will work closely with the Operations team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, and to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulatory Standards
Participate in the assessment, design, implementation, and maintenance of process changes to meet workplace safety and environmental regulatory requirements (e.g., DOSH, NEMA).
Support the development and implementation of OHS policies, programs, SOPs, and work instructions.
Ensure compliance with internal and external QHSE standards through regular audits, inspections, and reviews.
Workplace Safety & Health
Coordinate workplace audits, inspections, and the collection, analysis, and reporting of QHSE CAPA across operations.
Lead accident/incident preparedness, fire safety drills, employee wellness, deworming, and vaccination programs.
Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive measures.
Maintain accurate records, registers, MSDS databases, and training documentation.
Training, Coaching & Engagement
Facilitate QHSE learning through training sessions, safety inductions, toolbox talks, and coaching on workplace organization (5S).
Support operational teams in implementing 5S and driving innovative improvements.
Lead process diagnostic sessions (RCAs) to identify root causes and corrective actions.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Conduct regular field visits to verify the quality of installations (QOI) for Fresh Life Toilets.
Inspect incoming goods to ensure compliance with company quality standards and specifications.
Assist in preparing reports on installation quality trends and performance metrics.
Support audits and data collection within manufacturing and logistics processes.
Drive continuous improvement by ensuring timely closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with operational teams to embed QHSE practices in daily activities.
Provide hands-on support in implementing and sustaining the company’s QHSE management system.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or BSc. Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health.
2 years of proven experience in Quality, Health, Safety and Environment related work
Proficiency in MS Office suite especially MS Excel
Strong report writing and data analysis skills
Ability to respond to emergencies promptly
