Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Debtor Tracing & Investigations

 

Conduct thorough investigations to locate debtors (individuals and businesses).

 

Gather intelligence on debtors whereabouts, lifestyle, employment, and business activities.

 

Utilize discreet surveillance and investigative techniques where appropriate.

 

2. Asset Tracing & Verification:

 

Identify and verify movable and immovable assets (real estate, vehicles, business interests, etc.) linked to debtors.

 

Conduct searches using government and institutional registries (e.g., Lands Registry, Companies Registry, NTSA).

 

Prepare accurate asset tracing reports to support recovery and legal proceedings.

 

3. Reporting & Legal Support:

 

Compile detailed investigation reports with findings, evidence, and actionable insights.

 

Ensure all reports meet evidentiary standards for court submission.

 

Provide testimony in court when required regarding investigative methods and findings.

 

4. Stakeholder & Team Collaboration:

 

Work closely with lawyers, debt recovery officers, and credit managers to align investigation outputs with recovery strategies.

 

Liaise with external agencies, registries, and institutions to verify information.

 

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

35 years as a Private Investigator, preferably with focus on debt recovery, asset tracing, or credit enforcement.

 

Background working with law firms, financial institutions, PI firms, or debt recovery agencies is an added advantage.

 

Strong knowledge of investigative methods, including surveillance, background checks, and asset verification.

 

Familiarity with Kenyan registries and asset databases (Companies Registry, Lands Registry, NTSA, etc.).

 

Familiarity with Kenyan registries and legal frameworks for asset recovery.

 

Excellent analytical and reporting skills; ability to present findings in clear, legally sound formats.

 

High integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

 

Strong networking and interpersonal skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
