DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals as directed by the Head Cook or Kitchen Supervisor
Wash, peel, chop, and cut food ingredients using basic kitchen tools
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment
Follow food safety and hygiene standards in food preparation, storage, and serving
Serve food portions in line with dietary and portion control guidelines
Assist in the reception and proper storage of food supplies and kitchen inventory
Support the setup and clearing of the dining area before and after meals
Adhere to the school's meal schedules and kitchen procedures
Dispose of waste appropriately and assist in maintaining a clean waste management process
Perform any other kitchen-related duties as assigned
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
Certification in Catering, Food Handling, or a related field
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (e.g., kitchen assistant, cook helper)
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
Prior experience in a school kitchen or institutional setting is an added advantage
Understanding of food hygiene, personal cleanliness, and safety standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions precisely
