Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

 

Design, develop, and update data entry forms and surveys using REDCap to ensure efficient and accurate data collection.

 

Implement branching logic, skip patterns, and validation checks within REDCap to optimize data quality

 

Ensure REDCap data is properly uploaded from all tablets at the end of each day of data collection and regularly update and back up the REDCap projects, ensuring data security and compliance with relevant regulations.

 

Keep track of data collection activities, including screening, enrollment, laboratory assessments, and follow-up visits, and scheduling of visits and evaluate study data and visit tracking logs for protocol compliance and collaborate with study team members to establish and enforce data management protocols and standards.

 

Develop and implement data management plans to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.

 

Oversee the entire data life cycle, including data collection, cleaning, validation and storage, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of study data.

 

Supervise verification of data, check and clean raw data as soon as it is uploaded or entered by field staff.

 

Log data quality issues as they arise and address issues in a timely manner and communicate regularly with study team about the status of data collection and any difficulties or concerns that have arisen.

 

Perform data query management, to identify and address discrepancies or errors promptly and monitor study data to ensure the quality and completeness of the data submitted and Track study data on screening and enrollment to ensure eligibility criteria are being met and reasons for ineligibility and non-enrollment are being documented.

 

Implement data quality assurance protocols to maintain the highest standards of data integrity.

 

Work with study team to quickly address issues of missing, incomplete, or erroneous data.

 

Perform weekly summary reports for quality monitoring and generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings to the research team.

 

Perform statistical analyses to derive meaningful insights from the longitudinal data.

 

Create and manage data dictionaries, including updating and checking stored information related to the study, updating datasets and associated data dictionaries, as well as maintaining a record of data and variable updates (version control)

 

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data management processes, including data dictionaries, coding procedures, and variable definitions and updates.

 

Keep track of visit follow-up data, missed visits, and reasons for missed visits and document adverse events and communicate events to research team.

 

Vacancy Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics    Mandatory

 

At least three (3) years of relevant research experience. Experience with multi-site and/or cluster randomized trials is an added advantage.    Added Advantage

 

Proficient in REDCap programming and customization.    Mandatory

 

High level of competency in using Microsoft, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.    Mandatory

 

Experience with data management tools and software e.g. Microsoft SQL server, Redcap, SAS or R.    Mandatory

 

Experience with large, multi-country teams and ability to work across time zones to facilitate effective communication.    Mandatory

 

Statistics or any other relevant field from a recognized institution    Desirable

 

Strong analytical ability, planning, and organizational skills    Desirable

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to lead a team    Desirable

 

Strong statistical analysis skills using tools such as SAS, STATA, R, Python, or similar.    Desirable
