Description: 60 Decibels is a tech-powered impact measurement company that makes it easy to listen to the people who matter most. We've been in business as an independent entity since early 2019, when we spun out of the global Impact Investor Acumen. We believe that the best way to understand social impact is by talking to the people experiencing that impact. It sounds obvious when you say it, but that is not the typical practice for many impact investors, corporations and foundations working to create social change. We collect social impact data directly from beneficiaries (customers / employees / suppliers) using our network of 1000+ trained research assistants in 75+ countries. We do it quickly and without the fuss typically associated with measuring social impact. Our research assistants speak directly to customers to understand their lived experience; and our team turns all this data into benchmarked social performance reports, with accompanying insights, to help our clients demonstrate and improve social performance. By making impact measurement simple, scalable, and comparable, we not only enable organizations to improve their products and services; we also help transform what it means to credibly measure impact, ensuring that the voices of those who matter most are always part of the story.
Job Description

About the Role

We’re looking for an Engagement Manager (think: client partner meets impact strategist) to join our dynamic Services team for a 5-month contract engagement with the possibility to extend to full-time pending performance and business forecasts. We’re moving quickly and would ideally have you join us mid-September.

You’ll act as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of clients—scoping new projects, shaping research strategies, and ensuring our work is delivered with excellence. You’ll be a translator between client needs and our research execution teams, making sure every project delivers real insight and value.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves both people and process: someone who enjoys collaborating with purpose-driven clients, guiding research projects from idea to impact, and working with a diverse, global team.

What You'll Do

Be the Trusted Advisor: Own relationships with assigned clients, helping them articulate their learning goals and translate those into clear, actionable research.

Shape the Work: Lead project scoping—aligning on what’s feasible, meaningful, and timely—and develop survey and analysis plans that connect directly to client objectives.

Ensure Excellence: Oversee end-to-end project execution, keeping a close eye on quality, timeline, and alignment with client needs.

Turn Data into Insight: Contribute to final deliverables by shaping insights, adding context, and ensuring recommendations speak to what matters most for each client.

Navigate the Details: Manage key contract components (timelines, invoicing, amendments), working cross-functionally with our Sales and Finance teams.

Spot New Opportunities: Partner with Sales Leads to identify ways to deepen client relationships and support renewal or cross-sell conversations.

Who You Are

You have proven experience managing complex client relationships or partnerships—ideally in a consulting, research, social impact, or mission-driven context. We expect you likely have ~5-7 years of experience.

You’re a great communicator: clear, empathetic, and organized.

You possess an eye for visuals and have been hands-on in building client-facing deck materials.

You’ve led strategic research projects end-to-end from scope to delivery.

You’re intellectually curious and impact-driven—you want to help organizations learn and improve.

You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments.

You bring a balance of strategic thinking and operational follow-through.

Bonus: Experience in research, evaluation, or impact measurement is a plus.

Education: Degree, Diploma
Employment Type: Contract Based
