Job Description

Minimum Qualification and Skills:

 

Educational Qualifications:

 

A Degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

 

A professional certification in sales or marketing is an added advantage.

 

Experience:

 

Minimum 5 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3 years in Modern Trade (Key Accounts).

 

Proven track record of growing volumes, achieving revenue targets, and managing large retail chains like Carrefour, Quickmart, Naivas, Chandarana, etc.

 

Experience in FMCG or Beverage sector.

 

Key Skills & Competencies:

 

Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with retail buyers and category managers.

 

Expertise in route-to-market strategies, listing procedures, trade terms negotiation, and visibility planning.

 

Deep understanding of Modern Trade operations, including shelf space management, planograms, stock rotations, and promotions.

 

Excellent analytical skills to interpret sell-in vs. sell-out data and drive decisions.

 

Competence in trade marketing and category development.

 

Leadership skills to coach, mentor, and lead sales teams or merchandisers.

 

Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and sales reporting tools (ERP/CRM).

 

Personal Attributes:

 

Self-driven, result-oriented, and able to work under pressure.

 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Ability to work cross-functionally with logistics, marketing, and production teams.

 

Other Requirements:

 

Must have a valid driving license and be willing to travel across regions.

 

Solid network and contacts within the Retail and distribution Channels.

 

Demonstrated ability to open new Modern Trade accounts and improve penetration per outlet across assigned regions.
