GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position has the overall responsibilities of:
Drive product distribution and sales growth and achieve diverse monthly and quarterly targets within assigned territories.
Maintain strong relationships with customers such as large- and medium-format retailers, distributors and other channel partners to drive retention and growth targets.
Develop and deliver accurate and timely retail sales out, distributor and market reports and base analytics.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Sales Representative is responsible and accountable for the following Core job elements:
Execute daily field sales operations including customer visits, order generation, delivery follow-up, and after-sales support.
Expand customer base by prospecting and onboarding new outlets, including wholesalers and retailers.
Meet or exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets within the designated territory or customer segment.
Actively promote and sell company products to customers and distributors as per the company sales strategy.
Execute promotional plans and tactical initiatives as directed by the leadership.
Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers and distributor sales teams.
Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, complaints, and support needs, ensuring timely resolution or escalation.
Monitor customer satisfaction and follow up on service or delivery issues to ensure retention and repeat business.
Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to grow existing accounts.
Collaborate with the marketing and distribution teams to drive product visibility and ensure consistent availability on the shelf.
Monitor and report on market trends, pricing, customer needs, and competitor activity.
Participate in sales training, reviews, and planning meetings to align on targets and performance metrics.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and operating procedures in all assigned activities.
EDUCATIONAL AND COLLATERAL REQUIREMENTS:
A tertiary educational qualification is required while an undergraduate degree in a business-related field from a recognized and accredited University is preferred.
At least five years sales experience with outstanding results in a reputable FMCG company and must have solid knowledge of the Kenyan retail and distribution landscape.
Demonstrated ability to meet sales and distribution targets and manage complex negotiations with multiple types of client relationships.
Ability to deliver impactful data and analytics-based reports and insights with exceptional strategic, creative, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Must be willing to travel extensively within assigned territories.
The candidate should have the potential to develop to Sales Manager.
