To deliver high-quality teaching and learning for Grade 3 learners under the Kenyan Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), while also being able to teach learners up to Grade 6. The teacher will foster holistic development by integrating academic, social, emotional, and moral values in line with the school’s philosophy.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
Prepare and deliver lessons for Grade 3 (and up to Grade 6 where required) in accordance with the CBC curriculum.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, learning materials, and continuous assessment tools.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Integrate ICT, creative activities, and practical learning in daily teaching.
Learner Assessment & Progress Tracking
Carry out formative and summative assessments per CBC guidelines.
Maintain up-to-date learner records and progress reports.
Provide regular feedback to learners and parents on academic and behavioral progress.
Classroom & Learner Management
Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
Instill discipline, responsibility, and values in learners.
Promote teamwork, respect, and inclusivity within the classroom.
Co-curricular Activities
Participate in and support school co-curricular programs (sports, clubs, arts, etc.).
Encourage learners’ talents and interests beyond academics.
Collaboration & School Development
Work collaboratively with colleagues, school administration, and parents to enhance the learning experience.
Attend staff meetings, training, workshops, and professional development programs.
Support the school in implementing educational initiatives and improvement plans.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Primary Option) or Diploma in Education (P1) from a recognized institution.
TSC registration is mandatory.
Proven teaching experience at lower and middle primary level (Grade 1–6) under the CBC curriculum.
At least 3 years of teaching experience in a recognized school (preferred).
Proficiency in ICT integration in teaching and learning.
Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
