Job Summary
Reporting to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for provision of oversight for business systems, programmatic and research programs and projects under IRDO and ensure effective implementation of the decisions of the Board of Directors.
S/he will provide strategic leadership to the management team in planning and execution of IRDO’s strategy, policies, programs and related operations within the approved budget to increase program impact and achieve operational efficiency. The successful candidate will develop and implement medium term growth strategies including resource mobilization in line with the IRDO’s Strategic Plan, safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure prudent management of its human and financial resources including expenditures, investments, and growth initiatives.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Provision of financial, programmatic and research oversight to all projects/programs
Write proposals for new funding and act as liaison between IRDO and donors, the government and other stakeholders,
Act as Secretary to the Board of Directors.
Ensure research and program initiatives align with the strategic objectives of the organization and are executed with scientific rigor.
Undertake high level strategic planning and hands on program and research management
Directing a multidisciplinary team to innovate, analyse and produce meaningful results.
Minimum Qualification:
PhD in Public Health related field; post doctorate in relevant field is highly recommended.
At least 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years in senior management position in a comparable organization.
Demonstrated experience and competency in program design, policy influence, management and evaluation.
Experience in research design and implementation and scientific writing.
Demonstrated grant making with history of winning grants.
Exceptional stakeholder management, excellent writing, communication and Interpersonal skills
High level integrity in financial management and implementing research and programs.
Exceptional team leadership capabilities.
Proven hands on experience in implementing social – behavioral studies and clinical trials
