Job Description

The candidate will support with the review of incoming RFPs and contracts, highlight areas of risk and work to resolve them with the responsible stakeholders. The candidate will also keep an eye on opportunities in terms of contractual changes and must be hands-on in every stage of the contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to implementation and renewal. This will apply to tier one clients and all strategic opportunities handled by CST.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Financial

 

Highlight client contract risks to the business that may have financial exposure to the company.

 

Evaluate the risk and articulate the likelihood and exposure of the risk to the company while providing their opinion on the process forward or decline the opportunity.

 

Analyse and evaluate existing contracts to determine and identify ways to increase client satisfaction and contract spend.

 

Support the business units and the Commercial team to review new and existing clients contract feasibility and profitability.

 

Work with the Bids Team to ensure all tender, performance and any other bonds issued by the company to the clients are correct

 

Support business units with disputes with the clients and ensure they are settled within a timely manner.

 

Customer

 

Identify ways to mitigate risk and fulfil of client opportunities driving profitability through support of business development activities: highlight any commercial risk exposure in RFPs and contract; and support the business during resolute for the same.

 

Provide advice to internal stakeholders by supporting business development efforts to deliver sustainable profitable growth.

 

Attend Commercial Review meeting with the Business Unit Heads to provide input where the opportunity has significant risk to the business and how this is mitigated with the offering to the client.

 

Attend credit control meetings to understand and support efforts to get timely payments from clients if required

 

Transfer knowledge of client that are using GardaWorld services across various business units.

 

Process

 

Review all RFP, tender, RFI, and other business development documents and highlight major risks and financial impacts to the business units, solutions teams, business development team and sales support team for decision by the business.

 

Guide Business Units with governance for client commercial activity across the business, ensuring all business opportunities go through the proper risk assessment and approval processes.

 

Support and mitigate any financial risk exposure for new businesses

 

Work closely with the legal team to review new commercial agreements, ensuring they are aligned with company policies and standards and adhere to local commercial and labour laws.

 

Provide training to ensure stakeholders are up to date with knowledge and understanding of Service Levels Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.

 

Keep an eye on contract renewals, milestones, and obligations via contract repository

 

Accountability:

 

The Contract Manager is accountable to the Senior Manager, CST with a dotted line to Managing Director, East Africa for their responsibilities stated in this job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through the mid-year and annual performance review and supported through the monitoring of their KPIs.

Competencies:

 

Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and regulatory requirements.

 

Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.

 

Experience working with international companies is a plus.

 

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

 

Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

 

Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills

 

Accuracy and high attention to detail

 

Ability to work independently and or within a team to manage multiple contracts simultaneously

 

Previous experience in a similar role in the industry preferred.

 

Qualifications:

 

2+ years of experience with contract management, commercial management, account management in a B2B environment.

 

Bachelor’s degree –Business Management, Finance, Commerce, Procurement or similar.

 

Experience in commercial law is highly preferred.

 

Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.

 

Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM, CCM) is an advantage
