Job Description
Amotech Africa is offering an exciting opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world financial operations under the guidance of experienced finance professionals. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Receivable Accountant and will be responsible for the following:
- Preparing payment vouchers for suppliers and other payments, maintaining accurate records.
- Reconciling supplier balances and ensuring they align with supplier statements.
- Assisting in filing statutory deductions to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Supporting petty cash management and ensuring accurate transaction accounting.
- Assisting in bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Supporting in payables management, ensuring timely posting and payments.
- Participating in budgeting and forecasting activities to gain insight into financial planning.
- Assisting in project costing
- Ensuring proper documentation and filing of financial records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Assisting in tracking and processing employee expense requisitions and claims as per company policy.
- Contributing to improving financial processes and efficiency through data analysis and reporting.
- Adhering to the organization’s finance policies and procedures while performing all assigned duties.
Qualifications Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting/ CPA Part II, or a related field
- Preferably 3-6 months relevant experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of Kenyan taxation laws and statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF, Withholding Tax).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is an added advantage.
