Our client is a leading distributor of hardware items majoring in the distribution of Pipes and fittings across outlets situated in various towns across the county.
Their business model involves sourcing products from local manufacturers and importers. These items are then delivered to our central warehouse for sorting, batching and dispatch to our various outlets. This ensures that all our outlets have an adequate assortment of stock required to ensure the company meets customer demands. It is with business model that we have grown to have the largest network of outlets across the country
Responsibilities:
Branch Operations:
- Ensure that all operations of the branch run smoothly.
- Ensure that the employees are busy in their duties and efficient at all times.
- Manage employees and lead day to day responsibilities.
- Ensuring staff registers are accurate and well kept.
- Motivating staff to meet their set goals.
- Ensuring that the company’s properties are used appropriately.
- Monitoring and handling of receipts and invoices.
- In charge of recording keeping of the branch.
- To ensure that the company mission, vision, and values are well represented in the branch.
- Ensuring store compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensures that the store always looks clean and inviting.
Stock Management:
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer demands.
- Conduct regular stock audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Update and maintain stock records and ensure all stocks are accounted for.
- Implement and enforce inventory control measures to minimize stock losses.
- Identify slow moving and obsolete stock items and recommend appropriate action.
- Coordinate stock taking activities and manage sick count when necessary.
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering new items.
Sales and Marketing:
- Supervising the shop assistants at the branch and ensure their optimal performance.
- Ensuring that the counter employees are well versed with prices and all products.
- Develop and execute branch sales strategies to maximize revenues.
- Creating business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic, and enhance profitability.
- Responding to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
- Supervising sales at the branch and ensuring the set targets are met.
Finance and Accounting:
- Ensure safe banking is done at all times and minimum cash holding of less than Kshs. 50,000 is maintained.
- Confirms daily sales reports and cash receipts;
- Ensures monies are deposited regularly, and reports are submitted as prescribed by company policies.
- To liaise with the accounting team that all the agents in the branch are paid and have received the reports.
- To oversee and ensure that the debts are well collected and a good record is kept.
- Ensuring that all cheques are correctly written, well kept, and banked on time.
Human Resource:
- Ensure that all the employee sign the attendance registers.
- Ensure the workplace remains safe, healthy and conducive for the working of the employees.
- Ensure at all times the employees have the personal protective gears and are in use during the working hours.
- Plan for the employees’ annual leave and off days and submitting them to Human Resource Department.
- Ensure that the employees are well trained in their respective positions and that they perform optimally in their respective positions.
- Any other duty as assigned by the management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the distribution or logistics preferably in hardware or related fields.
- Proven track record in managing a team and achieving sales targets.
- Strong leadership abilities to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
- Proficiency in inventory management and supply chain logistics.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to assess branch performance and implement improvements.
