Turkana University College (TUC) was inaugurated on 27th January 2017 as a constituent college of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. This is Kenya’s first Public University to be established in the vast resource – rich area of north western Kenya.
The University College is situated in Turkana County, which is the 2nd largest County in Kenya covering 68,680sq km. It is the same size with the Republic of Rwanda. The County borders with South Sudan to the north, Uganda to the west and Ethiopia to the north- west.
Turkana University College aspires to be a preferred University College in humanities science and technology. We wish to provide holistic university education, create, preserve and disseminate knowledge and skills through superior pedagogy and research for transformation of lives and service to humanity
Turkana County is a good place to be. The earliest Stone Age industry in pre- history was found in Turkana County. A number of archeological discoveries make the County very strategic. The earliest late Stone Age industries in prehistory were found in Turkana. At the archaeological site of Nataruk, in Southwest Turkana, scientists have discovered the oldest evidence of inter-group conflict in the past. We are therefore situated in a rich environment for studies in human sciences.
Job Description

- Must have a Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Management, Business Admin- istration or its equivalent and CPA Part III with six (6) years' work experience as an internal auditor OR Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or its equivalent and CPA Part III with twelve (12) years' working experience as an internal auditor OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or its equivalent and CPA Part III with at least three years working experience as Internal Auditor Scale XI
- With CISA qualifications will have an added advantage
- Must be registered with a recognized professional body.
- Must be ICT Competent (provide evidence)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and develop audit systems, techniques and procedures and ensure their effective implementation Prepare and submit the University College Audit reports to the University College Council and relevant government bodies/agencies
- Undertake comprehensive audits on utilization of resources
- Ascertain correctness of accounting reports
- Draw up audit programmes
- Prepare audit queries and observations
- Any other duties as shall be assigned by the supervisor.
