Role Overview:

Roots Africa is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst Fellow with an actuarial sciences background. This fellowship is an opportunity for a talented individual to work closely with our team, developing computational models in Excel to support business decisions and drive growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the African property market and a passion for empowering the diaspora.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the African property market.

Develop and maintain computational models in Excel to analyse financial data, property valuations, and investment returns.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret business requirements, translating them into analytical models and actionable insights.

Assist in the preparation of detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Support the team in developing business strategies and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Conduct competitor analysis to benchmark Roots Africa’s offerings and identify areas for differentiation.

Assist in preparing financial forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics.

Collaborate with the technology team to integrate data analytics tools and automate reporting processes.

Requirements:

University degree in Actuarial Sciences, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Proficiency in developing complex computational models in Excel.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

Familiarity with the African property market or a strong interest in learning about it.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Experience in business analysis, financial modelling, or similar roles is a plus.
