I noticed a shop near me hiring last week. Three days later, the sign was gone, and a young guy was already behind the counter. Sometimes vacancies fill before you even work up the courage to ask.
Africa's tech scene is buzzing, but are we doing enough to support local hardware innovation? I think software gets all the love while hardware startups struggle. What's your take?
Early in my career I thought working harder was the answer. It wasn't. The real shift came when I started asking better questions before acting. Clarity beats effort almost every time.

I used to think providing meant bringing home the biggest paycheck. Then my daughter asked me to just sit and watch her draw. That afternoon taught me more about fatherhood than any overtime shift ever did. Presence is the provision they remember.
Watching celebrities rise and fall taught me one thing: fame is a spotlight, not a foundation. Build your life on something that lasts longer than the headlines.
Sitting at a cafe in Nairobi, I watched a young woman take an order, confirm payment on her phone, and dispatch a boda rider in under two minutes. That quiet rhythm of mobile money and small logistics is the pulse of business here, and it rarely makes headlines.
Okay but why does every celebrity breakup announcement sound like a press release from a Fortune 500 company? Just say you grew apart and go. Am I the only one who skips those statements entirely?

Job hunting in the UAE? Always tailor your CV to the specific role and company. Recruiters here often scan for relevant keywords, so a generic CV can get overlooked. A little customization goes a long way.
Been following the Middle East news closely this week. My honest take: lasting progress only comes when ordinary people on all sides are heard, not just the loudest voices. What do you think actually moves things forward? Curious to hear other views.

Just saw that 'quiet dating' is trending. It's about keeping your relationship private, not posting every detail. Honestly, I get it. Some of the best moments are just for the two of you.

Kenya's job market rewards skills more than papers these days. I have seen guys with diplomas out-earn degree holders because they mastered a practical trade. What skill do you think every Kenyan youth should learn right now?

Sending a parcel to Canada from India can be simple when you know what affects the shipping price. Many people think courier charges depend only on the weight of the parcel, but that is not always the case.
Several details are checked before the final price is decided. Understanding these factors can help you choose the right service and plan your shipping budget.
What Affects Courier Charges to Canada?
The cost of an international shipment can depend on several things, such as:
Weight of the parcel
Size of the package
Pickup location in India
Delivery location in Canada
Type of items inside the parcel
Delivery service selected
Packaging requirements
Customs and shipment documents
Because of these factors, the cost can be different for every shipment.
Does Weight Change the Shipping Cost?
Yes, parcel weight is one of the most important factors.
For example:
A 1 kg shipment will usually have a different price from a 5 kg shipment.
Heavier parcels generally have higher shipping charges.
Courier companies may use different weight slabs.
The final weight is checked before the shipment is processed.
Before booking, it is useful to weigh your parcel as accurately as possible.
What Is Volumetric Weight?
Sometimes a parcel is light but takes up a lot of space. In such cases, the courier company may consider volumetric weight.
It is generally calculated using the dimensions of the package:
Length × Width × Height ÷ Applicable Divisor
The divisor can vary depending on the courier service.
This means you should check both:
Actual weight
Volumetric weight
The applicable chargeable weight can depend on the courier company's pricing rules.
Why Parcel Size Matters
The size of your box can affect the courier price, especially when the package is large.
For example:
A small, heavy box may be charged mainly by its actual weight.
A large box containing lightweight products may have a higher volumetric weight.
Extra packaging can increase the overall package size.
Using suitable packaging without unnecessary extra space can help keep the shipment practical.
Does the Destination in Canada Matter?
Yes. The Canadian delivery address can also affect the price.
Charges may vary based on:
City
Postal code
Residential address
Business address
Remote location
Special delivery requirements
A complete Canadian address helps the courier provider check the correct delivery zone and provide a more accurate quote.
What Are You Sending?
The type of product inside the parcel is another important factor.
You may want to send:
Clothes
Documents
Gifts
Personal belongings
Household items
Business samples
Commercial products
Other permitted goods
Different products may have different shipping and customs requirements.
Some items may also need additional documents before they can be shipped internationally.
How Do Customs Rules Affect Costs?
When you send a Courier from India to Canada, customs requirements should not be ignored.
Depending on the shipment, the receiver may have to pay certain government or import-related charges.
These can include:
Import duties
Taxes
Customs-related fees
Clearance charges, where applicable
The amount can depend on the product type, declared value and Canadian import rules.
It is important to provide accurate information about your parcel when booking.
Does Delivery Speed Change the Price?
Yes. The delivery option you select can affect the total cost.
Common options may include:
Standard international delivery
Express delivery
Priority delivery
If your shipment is urgent, you may select a faster service. If you have more time, a standard option may be suitable.
Before booking, compare the delivery time and price of the available services.
