Remote work didn’t make people lazy.
It just removed the audience.
No more:
• unnecessary meetings that could’ve been a message
• office politics over coffee machines
• “quick chats” that turn into 45 minutes
• pretending to look busy

Remote work quietly solved something most companies ignore:
energy management.
You spend less time:
→ commuting
→ context switching
→ dealing with distractions
And more time:
→ actually doing the work
→ thinking clearly
→ delivering results
It also forces something important:
Better communication.
Because when you can’t rely on proximity,
you have to rely on clarity.
And maybe the biggest shift:
You stop optimizing for “looking productive”
and start optimizing for being productive.
Remote work isn’t perfect.
But it’s a lot easier to do great work
when the loudest thing in your day… isn’t the office. less

There’s far too much online about candidates being ghosted after interviews — and it needs to stop now.
If you’ve taken the time to prepare, show up, and invest your energy into an interview, you deserve basic respect in return. A simple yes or no. That’s it.
❌ Silence is not acceptable.
❌ Being ignored is not acceptable.
❌ Waiting weeks with no update is not acceptable.
Whether it’s through a recruiter or directly with an employer:
👉 Chase them. Follow up. Hold them accountable.
👉 If it’s through a recruiter — press them for answers.
👉 If it’s a direct employer — push for feedback.
You are not asking for anything unreasonable. Communication is part of a professional process.
And here’s the truth:
If organisations can find the time to interview you, they can find the time to give you an answer.
The market is tough enough right now. Candidates shouldn’t also have to deal with unnecessary uncertainty.
We need to change the culture.
We need to stop normalising silence.
We need to expect better — and demand better.
Let’s start holding people accountable. Respect goes both ways.
No one has the right to leave you hanging. Ever. less
