Ol Pejeta Conservancy Hiring Senior Officer, Software Solutions & Data

This position will report to the Manager, Technology and Innovations, working closely with the Software developer and all Ol Pejeta Ranching Ltd staff.

Responsible for the end-to-end process, this role involves the development, deployment, and maintenance of sophisticated software solutions. A key focus is on effective data management, collaborating closely with the Manager, Technology & Innovation, to cultivate a data-driven decision making culture within Ol Pejeta. In addition to actively contributing to software solution development, this position oversees the administration of data management systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across the organization. The incumbent is a critical player in advancing Ol Pejeta’s
technological capabilities and driving innovation through strategic software and data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Software Development:
    Guide requirements engineering processes for defining software specifications.
    Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring coding and testing meet high standards.
2. Release Management:
    Coordinate software updates, prioritizing stability and reliability across the organization.
    Implement automation for development, testing, and software release processes.
3. Cloud Computing and Integration:
    Utilize cloud computing skills (AWS, Azure, GCP) for efficient deployment.
    Design and implement software integrations, enhancing overall system functionality.
4. DevOps Automation:
    Implement and manage automation tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
    Troubleshoot production issues, optimizing code deployment and system functionality.
5. Collaboration and Code Reviews:
    Collaborate with team members to enhance engineering tools, systems, and procedures.
    Conduct thorough code reviews, providing detailed feedback for timely project completion.
