Police at Oloitokitok, Kajiado county are investigating an incident where a Nine-year-old girl was murdered, and her eyes gouged.

Her body was found dumped at a maize plantation near a river with her right leg missing. Her head was also skinned.

Oloitokitok Police boss Shadrack Ruto told The Standard, that the deceased family had reported that she had gone missing nine days ago.

Ruto described the incident as weird, and unbelievable that such a cruel action can be done by a human being.

''This particular incident is shocking, we can't even believe that it was done by a human being, however, we will use all means to get to the bottom of the matter'' said the police boss.

Ruto claimed that the victim may have been raped before meeting her untimely death.

According to the parents, the girl was sent by her mother to the market to buy foodstuffs but never came back home.

Mr. Peter Njihia, the father said they thought their daughter was stopped coming back by a heavy downpour that was falling in the area,

''We thought she would come back after the rain, but she never came back. We searched for her everywhere and we ended up at the police station where we reported the matter'' said Njihia

He said farmers who were going about their businesses found the mutilated body near a river and reported to the police who moved to the scene.

"It's very sad that someone could do this to our daughter who is just an innocent daughter, she was brutally murdered her eyes were gouged out, and her right leg was amputated, her private parts had been removed and her head was skinned…this was a bizarre incident and unbelievable,” said Njihia.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Loitoktok hospital mortuary pending an autopsy to help with investigations.
