Meross has upgraded its popular MS600 presence sensor with a new battery-powered MS605 version. This eliminates the need for a power cord, making installation easier anywhere in your home. Thanks to Matter-over-Thread support, the sensor works seamlessly with Google Home, Apple Home, and Alexa through a Thread-capable hub. A single CR123A battery can last up to three years, even in busy areas, though high activity may shorten its lifespan.
The MS605 leverages the low-power Thread protocol for smart home integration. Unlike the MS600, which used Wi-Fi for Matter, this version reduces energy consumption while maintaining instant response times. Users can connect the sensor to existing smart home ecosystems without needing a dedicated Meross hub, providing a versatile and eco-friendly upgrade for modern homes.
The MS605 retains the articulated mounting plate from its predecessor, allowing 90-degree tilt and 360-degree rotation. Its combination of mmWave radar, PIR, and light sensors detects both moving and stationary people while ignoring inanimate objects like curtains. The new IP67 waterproof rating expands its usability to outdoor areas, making it suitable for garages, patios, or entryways.
