The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nairobi, Kenya is looking for an intern to cover a period of 6 months, starting in April 2024 to September 2024.
The selected intern will contribute to the implementation of the 2023-2026 Multi Annual Country Strategy (MACS) of the Netherlands in Kenya. The Intern will be attached to the food security and nutrition, water and climate department of the Embassy.
This department mainly implements the specific objective 2 – Stability improved & inequality reduced of the MACS, and at the same time contributes to and complements the activities of the other specific objectives, particularly objective 1- Economic relationship expanded & deepened, objectives 3 and 4 – Civic space enhanced & and voices of marginalized groups amplified, and objectives 5 and 6 – Cooperation on regional stability, multilateralism & climate action strengthened.
As a result the trade and investment, as well as the Humanitarian departments interact and have areas of synergy with the Food security and nutrition, water and climate department of the Embassy.
The intern will therefore support the food security and nutrition, water and climate team at the Embassy in the implementation of the 2024 workplan which is inline with the current MACS.
More specifically the intern will have specific tasks that they will be expected to deliver on, these are as follows;
This agenda describes the basis of implementation of objective 2 of the MACS by the food security and nutrition, water and climate department of the Embassy.
Hence the SAL agenda is; Focus on counties vulnerable to climate change and prone to natural resource based conflicts, yet with high potential for inclusive and sustainable economic growth and resilience building that can be explored and strengthened.
