Google’s Gemini is now on Android Auto, offering drivers an AI assistant that goes beyond simple voice commands. Unlike traditional assistants, Gemini allows natural, flowing conversations, helping with directions, messages, and daily tasks. Android Auto users can now experience a more intuitive, hands-free interface while keeping their eyes on the road.
To use Gemini, simply download the Gemini app on your Android phone. Once installed, Android Auto will display the AI assistant on your car’s infotainment screen. Activate it by saying “Hey Google,” pressing the mic icon, or holding the voice control button on your steering wheel. Setup is quick, and the AI is ready to handle complex tasks while you drive.
Gemini in Android Auto allows you to handle tasks more efficiently than ever. Ask it to send texts, find nearby restaurants, check traffic updates, or manage your schedule. The AI is designed for back-and-forth conversations, meaning it understands context and follow-up questions, making driving safer and less stressful.
Currently, Google’s Gemini is exclusive to Android Auto. There are no plans to support Apple CarPlay, according to a Google spokesperson. For now, iPhone users will need to rely on traditional assistants or wait for potential updates in the future.
