Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8 Rolling Out to Pixel: Key Fixes & Supported Devices

Google is rolling out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8 for Pixel devices today. This new beta update arrives just two weeks after the previous release and focuses on fixing several annoying bugs reported by users.

If you're enrolled in the Android Beta for Pixel program, you can now download the latest update. It stays on the July 2026 security patch but brings meaningful improvements to audio, connectivity, security, and more.

What's New in Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8?

This update is all about stability. Google has addressed a number of issues that were affecting Pixel users. Here are the most notable fixes:

  • Loud audio corruption fixed: A buffer management problem in the audio framework caused unexpected static or very loud noises during media playback and notification sounds. This is now resolved.
  • Pixel Tablet Speaker Dock stability: The dock frequently went offline or failed to connect when attached. That connection issue has been fixed.
  • NFC tag reading regression: Some NFC tags were failing to be read or couldn't open URLs. The regression is gone, so NFC should work normally again.
  • Fingerprint unlock not triggering: A bug where fingerprint authentication didn't activate when trying to unlock the device has been corrected.

Which Pixel Devices Get the Update?

Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8 is available for a wide range of Pixel devices. You can install it on:

  • Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a
  • Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a
  • Pixel Tablet
  • Pixel Fold
  • Pixel 8, 8 Pro, 8a
  • Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a

If you have one of these devices, you can also download the system image (build CP31.260623.010) and flash it manually.
