Google Fi Is Getting AI-Powered Noise Filters and RCS Web Messaging
Google Fi is getting AI-powered noise filters and RCS web messaging, marking one of the service’s biggest updates yet. These features aim to make communication clearer and more seamless—whether you're chatting from your laptop or calling in a busy café. Subscribers can soon enjoy better call clarity and send high-resolution photos directly from Google Messages for web, even when their phones aren’t nearby.
AI-Powered Noise Filters for Crystal-Clear Calls
Starting mid-November, Google Fi will roll out AI-powered noise filters to enhance call quality. The feature uses Google’s advanced artificial intelligence to automatically detect and remove unwanted background noise while improving voice clarity on both ends of the call.
Even if your conversation partner is using an old cellphone or a landline, the AI ensures the audio remains crisp. Users can choose to disable the feature at any time, but it’s enabled by default to improve every call experience effortlessly.
RCS Web Messaging Comes to Google Fi
RCS web messaging is also coming to Google Fi, allowing subscribers to send and receive messages with rich media like high-quality photos and videos right from Google Messages on the web. This means you won’t need your phone nearby to stay connected or share large files.
The new interface for web calls and messages will fully support RCS messaging by early December—at no extra cost. It’s a major step in aligning Google Fi’s capabilities with Google’s broader communication ecosystem.
Wi-Fi Auto Connect Plus Expansion
Alongside the AI and RCS upgrades, Google Fi is expanding its Wi-Fi Auto Connect Plus feature. This function automatically links your phone to “select secure, high-quality Wi-Fi networks” in areas with weak mobile coverage.
The expansion includes “tens of millions of locations” across the U.S., such as malls, retail stores, and major airports like LAX, ORD, and JFK. All connections remain secure via a built-in VPN, ensuring privacy and performance. However, this feature remains exclusive to Pixel 5a smartphones and newer models.
Why These Updates Matter
Google Fi’s latest upgrades emphasize reliability, clarity, and convenience. With AI-powered noise filters improving voice calls and RCS web messaging offering modern communication flexibility, the carrier is clearly targeting a smoother, smarter user experience.
These updates make Google Fi an even stronger competitor in the wireless market—combining cutting-edge AI tools with features that genuinely enhance day-to-day communication.
