This is a full-time on-site role for a Paediatric Sub-Specialist (gastroenterology, nephrology, neurodevelopment, respiratory, neurology, speech therapy, paediatric surgery, & radiology) at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital located in Nairobi County, Kenya.
ResponsibilitiesThe Paediatric Sub-Specialist will be responsible for providing specialised care to infants, children, and young adults with chronic conditions, inpatient and outpatient services, and complex medical and surgical needs. Duties include but are not limited to: diagnosis and treatment plans; patient education and counselling; performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; and rounding on patients.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. with board certification in relevant paediatric sub-specialtyCurrent and unrestricted medical licensure in Kenya, or the ability to obtain before the start dateMinimum of 2 years clinical experience in paediatric sub-specialtyDemonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in multidisciplinary teamsAbility to work independently and make decisions when necessaryStrong computer skills with experience in electronic medical records systemsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centred approach to careSelf-motivated and committed to ongoing professional developmentExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
