Deezer is now offering its AI music detection tool to other streaming platforms and businesses, aiming to curb the rise of AI-generated tracks. The technology identifies, tags, and removes AI-created songs from recommendation algorithms, ensuring human artists retain rightful royalties. Last year, Deezer introduced the tool to combat fraudulent activity, and its results have been striking. In 2025 alone, the system flagged over 13.4 million AI-generated tracks, demonstrating its growing importance in the fight against unauthorized automated content.
Deezer reports that more than 60,000 AI tracks are uploaded daily, representing 39% of all new uploads—a dramatic increase from 30,000 per day in September 2025. This surge underscores how quickly AI tools like Suno and Udio are enabling mass-produced music that can often bypass traditional quality controls.
Alarmingly, Deezer found that up to 85% of streams of these AI-generated tracks were “fraudulent,” compared to just 8% of all streams overall. Fraudulent streams typically aim to manipulate royalties, artificially inflate popularity metrics, or exploit algorithms for financial gain.
Deezer’s AI detection system is designed to accurately identify synthetic music with a 99.8% success rate. By analyzing sound patterns, production signatures, and metadata, the tool can differentiate human-created songs from AI-generated content. Once identified, these tracks are excluded from algorithmic recommendations, preventing them from unfairly dominating playlists or charts.
Alexis Lanternier, Deezer’s CEO, emphasized the stakes: “Every fraudulent stream that we detect is demonetized so that the royalties of human artists, songwriters, and other rights owners are not affected.” This approach ensures that creators are protected while listeners continue to discover authentic music.
By opening its AI detection technology to other platforms, Deezer aims to provide an industry-wide solution to AI music fraud.
