Azizi Developments has unveiled an ambitious plan to invest Dh75 billion in the UAE’s hospitality sector, signaling strong confidence in the country’s tourism-driven economy. The Dubai-based developer intends to build 151 hotels across the country, with the majority located in Dubai. The project is expected to create around 75,000 jobs and significantly expand hotel capacity in the region. The large-scale hospitality expansion will be led by Azizi Hospitality, the hospitality arm of Azizi Developments. The company plans to develop 100 four-star hotels and 50 five-star hotels, along with one ultra-luxury seven-star property. More than 90 percent of these projects will be located in Dubai, highlighting the emirate’s central role in the UAE tourism strategy. Once completed, the portfolio will add approximately 60,000 new hotel rooms to Dubai’s existing hospitality inventory. The scale of the expansion places the project among the largest private hospitality investments in the region.
One of the most anticipated projects in the development pipeline is the seven-star hotel planned within Burj Azizi. The tower, currently under development on Sheikh Zayed Road, is expected to become the world’s second-tallest building once completed. According to Farhad Azizi, eight hotel developments are currently under construction. In total, ten hospitality projects are in various stages of design, planning, or development. These early initiatives form the first phase of the company’s larger expansion strategy.
The investment comes as the UAE continues pursuing ambitious tourism goals. According to global real estate advisory firm CBRE, Dubai aims to expand its hotel capacity to more than 160,000 rooms while targeting 25 million annual visitors. Other emirates are also investing heavily in tourism infrastructure. Abu Dhabi is developing cultural attractions and entertainment districts such as Saadiyat Cultural District and Yas Island. Meanwhile, Ras Al Khaimah aims to reach 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030 through new resort developments and tourism masterplans.
In addition to building hotels, Azizi Developments plans to strengthen the region’s hospitality workforce. The company will launch the Azizi Hospitality Academy, a training institution designed to develop hospitality professionals within the UAE. The academy will focus on equipping students with internationally recognized hospitality skills. Industry leaders say workforce development will be crucial as tourism continues to expand across the country. Training programs like this aim to ensure that the growing hospitality sector has access to skilled professionals.
