About Me
Isaac NTABALA is a highly skilled professional in GIS, remote sensing, and geospatial database management,
with extensive experience in conservation, natural resource management, and the sustainable planning of
sensitive ecosystems. He holds a bachelor’s degree (BAC+5) in Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource
Management and has contributed to several impactful projects in the DRC. Over the years, Isaac has effectively
applied geospatial technologies to support biodiversity conservation, participatory land-use planning, and
community resilience to climate change. He has played a central role in assessing the population dynamics of
wildlife by using advanced tools such as SMART, QGIS, and ArcGIS to map species distribution, analyze threats
such as poaching and deforestation, and recommend practical conservation strategies. Isaac also brings solid
expertise in spatial modeling and environmental data analysis, which are essential for marine spatial planning
(MSP) and integrated coastal zone management. He is proficient in integrating multisectoral data (e.g., fisheries,
conservation, tourism, infrastructure) into spatial decision-making processes to identify sustainable development
scenarios, reduce land-use conflicts, and promote synergies among stakeholders. With a clear understanding
of the growing threats to coastal areas including erosion, sea-level rise, pollution, and the degradation of
mangrove ecosystems. Isaac is capable of applying GIS tools to model climate risks, evaluate their impacts on
ecosystems and infrastructure, and support the design and implementation of territorial adaptation strategies.
Isaac’s technical capabilities are complemented by his ability to produce detailed technical reports, contribute to
scientific publications, and communicate effectively in multi-stakeholder projects.
