The first test of any job isn't the interview—it’s the job description. When you ignore "Apply via website" and post your CV in the comments, you're sending a red flag.
Why it matters:
■Attention to Detail: It’s the #1 skill employers look for.
■Professionalism: Respecting a company's process shows you’re a team player.
■Efficiency: Asking questions already in the text shows a lack of initiative.
The Checklist:
1. Read the entire post.
2. Follow instructions exactly.
3. Research independently before asking questions.
4. Let’s raise the bar for application etiquette. 📈

Recently, a candidate came in for one position, but as the conversation unfolded, it became clear their experience and strengths aligned even more strongly with another team my colleague was working with. It wasn’t something they had considered — and that’s often the case when people only see themselves through the lens of the job description.
After speaking with the other hiring manager, I asked the candidate if they’d be open to their profile being shared. The answer was an easy yes — and the relief and excitement from the candidate in that moment said everything.
This is exactly why real conversations matter in recruitment. CVs open doors, but listening, curiosity, and advocacy are what create meaningful opportunities — for both people and businesses.
Please don’t reject a candidate solely because of nervousness during an interview. Many deserving candidates may not appear confident in interviews, yet they often perform exceptionally well once given the opportunity on the job.
Please don’t reject a candidate solely because of nervousness during an interview. Many deserving candidates may not appear confident in interviews, yet they often perform exceptionally well once given the opportunity on the job.
Likewise, please don’t overlook someone due to a lack of experience. A candidate who is rejected today for this reason may, with time and guidance, become a valuable asset to your organization.
Kindly consider giving people a fair chance to grow and prove their potential. less

Think about it:
You wake up every day with the same question—“Will today finally be the day?”
You send out 50 applications, knowing most of them will vanish into the void.
You fight imposter syndrome at 9 AM, rejection at 2 PM, and silence at 6 PM.
And on top of that, you deal with:
— Fake job postings
— Ghosting
— Ridiculous job descriptions that want “10 years of experience” for an entry-level salary
Unemployment isn’t a break.
It’s a battlefield with no map, no timeline, and no guarantee.
The least we can do is be human.
If someone asks for help—offer it.
If they need a referral—give it.
If they need guidance—share it.
A tiny gesture from us can change someone’s entire career trajectory.
And one day, it could be us on the other side of the screen, hoping someone cares enough to help. less
