As senior security officer, my duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
i. Ensuring sufficient supply of security commodities such as CCTV cameras, alarms, patrol dogs, and other physical security equipment required for effective execution of the University's security function;
ii. Overseeing the functionality and maintenance of CCTV cameras, alarms, and other physical security systems across all designated areas of the University, conducting regular checks to identify and address vulnerabilities;
iii. Supervising security personnel, including security officers, security guards, and alarm/CCTV monitors, ensuring effective deployment, discipline, and performance;
iv. Performing fire suppression activities, including fire attack, ventilation, salvage, and overhaul, to extinguish fires and prevent their spread;
v. Facilitating the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of security appliances, machines, and facilities in line with evolving physical security needs and risk exposure;
vi. Conducting regular physical security and risk assessments of university premises to identify vulnerabilities, evaluate threat levels, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures;
vii. Ensuring that all security-vulnerable areas and access points of the University are properly and sufficiently manned at all times, guided by risk-based deployment strategies;
viii. Reporting, documenting, and investigating security incidents, criminal activities, and suspected fraud cases, and presenting comprehensive reports with recommendations for appropriate action;
ix. Conducting fraud risk assessments and supporting fraud prevention, detection, and deterrence initiatives across University operations in collaboration with relevant departments;
x. Collaborating with emergency response agencies, including fire and disaster management authorities, to ensure effective disaster response, preparedness, and management.
