I am Kevin, a food scientist with a vast knowledge in Quality assurance and control, Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, Operations and processing, Product development, Internal audit, Food Safety Management Systems, Process Optimization, Kaizen and Iso Standards.
Kevin graduated in 2019 from a World Class University of Excellence in Science and Technology: Meru University of Science & Technology in Kenya and has total of over four years of working experience.
I am actively interested in roles in food science, agriculture, health and nutrition, safety and quality sectors, many thanks!
I was recently working for African Originals as a quality controller for their Gin, tonics and Ciders manufacturing.
I carried out analysis for the Reverse Osmosis processing plant by sampling and testing for metal residues as an Control Measure.
I have worked earlier in Quality assurance and control as a supervisor for over three years in Unga FarmCare Ltd and United Millers ltd , and as a Packhouse -QAM for Afrex Gold Ltd dealing with horticulture exportations of Fruits (avocadoes and mangoes) and Vegetables(legumes).
Kevin worked for Unga limited and United Millers as a Quality Assurance Assistant responsible for raw materials quality, storage & dispatching to the mill, in adherence to Iso 22000:2018, FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001:2015, QMS.
He has worked as a Stock Controller(Warehouse and Fleet Logistics Clerk) at a result-driven EABL Distributing company (Jaros Ltd ) in Njoro and was supervising loading, offloading, safety, hygiene and stock levels calculations of the Alcoholic beverages in form of UDV Boxes and Keg Barrels through proper daily Bookkeeping and Inventory management. Kevin liaised with the Diageo's Trade Representative, Jaro's Sales Manager, DMS SuperUser and the Accountant to control the inventory stock and have won among my team: Diageo Gold Standards for warehouse management.
Earlier in April 2019, Kevin was lucky to be selected for a Diageo Internship under EAML Subsidiary in Molo. (EABL remains the biggest brewery in East and Central Africa and under the leadership of the MD-now the CEO, Mrs. Jane Karuku). At EABL, Kevin got the privilege of learning how corporate operates while carrying out diligent his work through the help of detailed SOPs for the Brew products. He went beyond his duties to learn administrative roles and how the brewery operates in general.
He has undertaken an Industrial attachment at KALRO: Kenya's biggest agricultural parastatal, where he acquired knowledge and trainings on G.A.P, Cereal Science, Food and Beverages, warehouse management, food laboratory practices and was awarded a certificate from KEBS/KALRO in Cereal and Pulses Grading as per the EAS 2017. Kevin has also been trained on CCPs i.e.,Aflatoxin inspection, testing and curbing using aflasafe. He has a valid certificate from APTECA on this.
