Lorna has a strong passion for finance, accounting, and business sustainability. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration specializing in Risk Management and Circular Economy from Tampere University of Applied Science, Finland, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Taita Taveta University, Kenya.
During her academic journey, She led a club to establish a fast-food shop showcasing her skills in project management, financial forecasting, budgeting, and creating contingency plans whereby she managed cost efficiency ensuring 20% profit margin. In her master's thesis she analyses data from various human hair recycling companies developing skills in waste valorization, circular economy strategies, life cycle assessment and sustainable business models achieving 30% reduction in landfill waste through innovative recycling designs.
Her professional experience at the International Centre for Reproductive Health-Kenya further honed her communication skills, data collection techniques, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork. These experiences have made her adaptable to dynamic work environments and skilled in collaborating across culturally diverse teams.
Lorna is proficient in financial modeling and reporting, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, planGuru and SAP. She has also gained skills in statistical analysis using SPSS and basic proficiency in Google data Studio for visualizing financial data. Fluent in English and Swahili with basic Finnish proficiency, she excels in cross-cultural communication and working in global settings.
Lorna aspires to join an organization where she can gain hands-on experience, enhance her professional skills, and contribute meaningfully to achieving its goals. Her vision is to become a business strategist, combining her expertise in finance and sustainability.
