I possess ten years of post-qualification experience in various settings of finance and accounting sector, such as financial budget revision, regular monitoring of the economic activities, monitoring the expenditures in line with the budget I also develop procedural documents, processes and ensure full understanding of the financial management process at all levels within the project. Ensure proper implementation of competitive processes for grantee selection and negotiation. Ensure that solid documentation is provided under each grant, and ensure that pre-award risk assessments are carried out on each grantee and that decisions are incorporated into grant awards. The experience has been in Public and private sector environments through employment and consultancies.
My current work at Welthungerhilfe provides support in ensuring that all financial and administrative processes at the project location are both auditable and efficient, contributing to the project's overall success. Ensuring the financial administration of the project complies with Welthungerhilfe and donor standards.
Oversee, maintain registers, and complete journal entries (JE) related to AR, AP, prepayments, fixed assets, revenue, payroll, tax, and other processes.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, complete tax payments, and handle all communications with tax authorities.
Perform accounting and tax research and provide recommendations
Supporting the Head of the Project in carrying out their supervisory responsibilities.
Guiding partner organizations on financial management, ensuring they meet their contractual obligations and maintain auditable records.
My work at Pact Inc. I provided the best experience that matches the position at hand. My roles include supporting the grants department as a Senior Grants Officer, where I support a USAID-funded project in the Karamoja Cluster partners under PEACE III. In this cluster, I manage eight (8) partners in the Karamoja and six (6) Partners under the European Union Trust Fund
I ensure proper implementation of program work plans by monitoring partnersโ progress, on-time disbursement of funds, and liquidation of monthly financial reports. I have conducted financial reviews for PEACE III subgrants on a quarterly basis. I also provide capacity building to the partners through onsite support and emails, while providing feedback on reports as well as organized training by the department.
I also ensure that grant administrative systems and procedures are updated and revised according to requirements, and ensure that all records are maintained for all grants and archived.
This position has not only enabled me to gain a deep understanding of my work but has also provided me with the opportunity to be part of the change agents in Pact. Among my professional qualifications are a bachelorโs degree in commerce โ Finance option, and Certified Public Accountant Part 3 Section 5, and currently pursuing an MBA. I have also trained and possess practical experience in the use of accounting packages, including FundsPro, Pastel, and currently using Turn Quest (ERP), AIMS, Serenic, and PROMISE.
