About Me
I am a senior Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) professional with over 10 years of experience strengthening programme monitoring systems, data quality, analytics and evidence use across complex humanitarian and development programmes in Kenya. I bring a strong combination of programme monitoring expertise and practical data management skills, with experience designing results frameworks and indicators, managing and validating programme data, conducting data quality assessments, and translating complex information into actionable insights for programme teams, senior management and donors.
Across roles with ZanaAfrica, UNICEF, RefuSHE, CARE International and World Vision, I have developed monitoring frameworks, digital reporting systems and dashboards that strengthen programme performance, learning and evidence-based decision-making. At RefuSHE, for example, I designed Power BI dashboards to improve performance monitoring and evidence utilisation across a multi-programme portfolio, while my current role at ZanaAfrica includes leading the development of monitoring frameworks, reporting systems, dashboards and digital data collection tools, alongside strengthening staff and partner capacity in data utilisation.
I am proficient in Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, SPSS and STATA, with hands-on experience using digital data collection and information systems including SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox, ODK, CommCare and DHIS2. Beyond technical capability, I bring extensive experience working collaboratively with programme and technical teams to translate their information needs into practical monitoring and data solutions and to strengthen colleagues’ capacity in monitoring, data quality and evidence use.
My background in nutrition and public health further strengthens my alignment with GAIN’s mission. Having previously led nutrition monitoring and evaluation for World Vision’s Global Affairs Canada-funded ENRICH Project, I understand how robust data systems, well-defined indicators and timely analysis can support programme improvement and ultimately contribute to better nutrition outcomes. I am motivated by the opportunity to bring this combination of data, monitoring and programme expertise to GAIN’s Programme Monitoring and Improvement function.
