Teaching and Educational Philosophy
Teaching is not just a job for me; it's a calling. I believe that education is the most powerful tool we can use to change the world. My primary objective is to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to excel. I'm committed to nurturing critical thinking skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of the subject matter.
In my role as a Lecturer in Mathematics at Bahria College Majeed Sre from November 2018 to August 2022, I developed and implemented engaging lesson plans aligned with the curriculum. I taught a wide range of mathematical concepts and skills to my students, utilizing various teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles. I strongly believe that education should be a two-way street, where students actively participate and engage in critical thinking. This approach allows them to not only grasp the subject matter but also apply it effectively in real-world scenarios.
I'm proud to have created and administered assessments, quizzes, tests, and assignments to evaluate student performance. Providing timely and constructive feedback on students' work and progress is a key part of my teaching strategy. It's not just about assigning grades; it's about helping students learn, grow, and achieve their best. My administrative responsibilities included maintaining accurate records of student attendance and grades, generating report cards, and actively participating in faculty meetings.
My teaching journey has recently taken an exciting turn as I pursue my Ph.D. in Mathematics at IBA, where I'm currently a PhD Scholar. In this role, I provide instructional support by planning and delivering educational materials and activities. I offer one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help, and I assist in grading assignments, tests, and homework, ensuring that students receive constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience. I also monitor and record student attendance and performance to identify areas where additional support may be needed.
Educational Background and Skills
Education has been a cornerstone of my life. I earned my Master of Science in Mathematics from IBA Karachi, and my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Karachi. My academic journey has equipped me with a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.
In addition to my academic achievements, I've honed various skills that are valuable in today's dynamic world. Proficient in MS Office, Mathematica, MATLAB, data analysis using Python, and database management using SQL, I'm well-equipped to navigate the digital landscape. My ability to communicate fluently in both Urdu and English ensures effective interaction in diverse educational environments.
