I currently work as a Supermarket Accountant handling both Grocery and Transport sector.
With my educational background and work experience of 4 years; I have acquired extensive skills under the accounts Department.
I am able to add value in the following roles; accounts receivable, HR department, accounts payable, supervisor.
Below are the functions I'm able to perform:
- Payroll management and submission of monthly statutory deductions (NSSF,NHIF,NITA,PAYE)
- Preparing annual leave pass, employment renewal contract, probation letters and appointment letter for new employees; Preparing annual leave schedule and monthly off list for our branches
- Filing and submission of VAT returns, VAT with-holding tax returns, Employment Income returns and Nil Returns.
- Prepare and process payroll and other allowances ensuring a correct calculation of statutory deductions; preparing salary voucher and updating muster roll book.
- Authorize and paying vendors by scheduling pay checks, preparing remittance advice, generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance - Prepare weekly and monthly Bank reconciliation on Quickbooks.
- Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including posting of journal entries, invoicing, receiving payments and issuing out receipts
- Ensure files are organised so that they are easily accessible; moving out dated files into the archives as well as assisting in retrieval of documents
- Monitor transport, grocery, rent debtors and assist in Debt collection. Check and ensure all correspondences are acted on within the shortest period.
- Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances; supervising staff work rate, supervise the receiving and purchasing clerks
- Prepare monthly sales reports for transport, rent and grocery income and purchases report
- Maintaining all companies’ files, staff records and safe guarding of companies passwords.
- Preparation of company final books of account and support external audit
- Authorizing issuing of Loans and repayment plan for personnel
- Directly support the managing partner In the day-to-day business operations and activities.
