COVER LETTER: SHEILAH CHERONO
Sheilah is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts degree in Kiswahili, Translation with majors and
minors in communications and media respectively. I am a former sales executive at Simba
Corporation Limited in the department of truck sales, where I have been able to bring new
business to the company, managed prospects while maintaining sustainable relationships with
them through field visits, social media engagement and phone calls. I have also actively
participated in flagging the Simba flag high by marketing the Fuso brand through activations and
customer door to door visits.
I am an ambitious and multi-skilled communications personnel with technical skills in different
aspects of communication, transcription and translation such as; photography, video editing
(using Adobe Premiere pro), manuscript editing, writing, translation (using Memo Q), and
organizational communication. I am also an excellent public relations expert. From the above
skills, I have actively participated in the production of 2 feature stories as both editor and sound
director respectively. I am also a budding actor having taken lead roles in several films among
them; Huba Chungu and Black Cat both on YouTube platform.
While working both at Zakihila East Africa and Rama Homes, together with the media team, we
designed suitable content to post in their Social Media Platforms. I was in charge of blogging,
social media pages management and also lead generation. While attached to Kass International
Media, I played important roles at the station conducting studio and outdoor interviews,
television production, transcription, translation, news editing, photography, video coverage, and
general communications. At Zionpearl publishers, I was able to learn the art of communication
through book editing, designing (using InDesign software), transcribing audios and videos to be
used in book writing and also marketing. I have also widened my scope of work by becoming
more tech-savvy and versatile while delivering what the client demands in the today-world
throughout my career journey.
Following the advertisement about the above post, I am seeking for an exciting opportunity
where I can apply these skills and grow further on employment level. I am a fast learner, gogetter, multi-skilled and a competent professional. I am a team player, passionate, resultsoriented and able to deliver under low to no supervision.
