About Me
I am an experienced Insurance underwriter with more than 5 year experience.
After graduating with a degree in Actuarial science I started working in a General insurance company. I worked for a year as an assistant underwriter, learning about how the insurance business works, getting experience on office duties and running daily operations. This improved my communication and risk assessment skills and I also realized that I had a good ability to meet deadlines without compromising the quality of my work. I was then promoted to work as an insurance underwriter, a role that I am currently holding and have been working for in the past five years, where I deal with assessing insurance risk, accepting risk, declining risk and for the acceptable risk deciding on the terms of acceptance. On top of these play a role ensuring insurance cover are issued, payments are paid, collected and accounts reconciled. It is motivating, interesting and I find the interaction with customers, agents and colleagues to be a lot of fun. I enjoy the numerical side and the amount of communication suits my outgoing personality. On top of this Am an Associate of Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK).
