BuuPass offers mobile digital solutions for booking and payment of public transport services. We challenge ourselves to make simpler, smarter, and more sustainable solutions that positively impact daily lives. BuuPass is currently operating in Nairobi, Kenya and allows travellers to book and pay for their bus tickets from their phone and pay with mobile money. BuuPass, previously known as Magic Bus Ticketing, won the prestigious 2016 Hult Prize, the world's largest student competition for social good. Their challenge was to better connect people to goods and resources. They were awarded the $1M prize from President Bill Clinton. The Hult Prize compelled them to start a social enterprise with the core belief that people and their time are valuable, and that everyone deserves access to opportunities. We accomplish this through offering widespread convenience to travellers, that allows people to save their time and money when booking their tickets.
